About ELVYN TREE

ELVYN TREE

ELVYN TREE is a reflective coaching & consulting space for BIPOC professionals, and the organizations that need them, to maximize their capacity for leadership with social justice & wellness at its core. Based in numerology, creolese, and spiritual metaphor, the name ELVYN TREE references trusting intuition, centering creativity, optimism & equity, building strong foundations, and eliminating fear & doubt.

Navigating professional spaces as BIPOC-identified folks can be daunting, leading to feelings of imposter syndrome, burnout, and lack of fulfillment. ELVYN TREE takes the inner passions and dreams of those folks and supports an actionable path to alignment through small, strategic shifts. Through coaching and consulting, ELVYN TREE combats the oppressive structures that affect BIPOC professionals' ability to grow, lead and thrive.

SOLUTION

Having engaged in multiple professional development spaces as a Black woman, I’ve come up with a business solution through ELVYN TREE Coaching and Consulting that cracks an urgent problem facing Black professionals: harmful, divisive work environments devoid of psychological safety that hinder reflection & learning.

Focusing especially Black women professionals, ELVYN TREE directly addresses the lack of psychological safety that doesn’t allow for Black professionals to grow and thrive in their workspaces.

CORE VALUES

  • Maximizing the capacity of others through historical context setting and justice in order to shift the power dynamics of the world,
  • Affording BIPOC professionals the space to think critically about their inherent voice & leadership and what they need to grow both,
  • Centering joy and laughter in an already difficult world to humanize our existence.

  • Dynamic

I thought she was so dynamic, and I really took away a lot about the tension between finding organizations that align with your personal mission versus trying to bring your personal mission to an organization, and how both have their advantages/disadvantages.

  • Validating

This session put a name to lots of feelings I had and offered good breakout discussion starters. I also really enjoyed Alisa's responses in the Q&A portion; Alisa's in-the-moment answers were super insightful and she should consider giving more time for them!

  • Reflective

Thank you for starting with that inner reflection for us! I have never really been pushed to reflect on my personal / professional traits like this. Also, the vocabulary that you presented to us (worship of the written word, etc) has been really helpful for me to sort through the experiences I have had during my fellowship.
